Film Review
THE PANIC ROOM
Directed by David Fincher the panic room is kind of a psychological thriller, crime and drama movie. The release of the movie is 2002.The scriptwriter of the film is David Koepp who is an American scriptwriter and director. He also writes Jurassic Park and Spiderman which is very popular besides lots of movies.Meg Altman who is newly separated from her husband buys a 3-story house which is highly splendid and big in Manhattan. She is going to live with her daughter. While visiting that home with her daughter, she notices a special room. This room is equipped with a great security system. The night of the moving day , 3 guys break into the house. And that woman takes sanctuary this panic room with her daughter. But what intruders are looking for is, in that room. So, the events develop with this room.
At the upcoming seconds, we can see her daughter is sick. And that gets things harder for them, to struggle with intruders. But the mother never gives up, fight against the intruders with an extraordinary willpower in that room although she suffers from a claustrophobia also. She just keeps being brave and fearless.
As for me, the excitement of film is better. In this movie, the events happen at only one setting actually, at home. But even so, it doesn't mean that the movie is boring.
Rather, for thrill lovers, The Panic Room can be a good option as in some parts of the movie, the viewer can feel peaks of the excitement. And the production supports this excitement with vital scenes and harmony of background effects. Even, fine details in some scenes, make you say 'Wow!'
I recommend this movie cause acting of actors are highly good, especially Jodie Foster. She plays incredible and realistic. Her acting, forces viewer to think, to be a mother even that hard times and thinking positive to find a way to get rid of that kind of trouble.
Also Kristen Steward. Although she is just 11 years old in this movie, she has a great performance of act.
And Forest Whitaker. Even if he plays a bad guy role who try to get into a panic room, he has a merciful heart. He doesn't want anybody hurts and behaves accordingly. There is a fine line between being an intruder and being a good guy. And he shows us this fine line masterful. His acting force viewer to think about it, also.
So, I think with actings, with background effects, and with the successful shooting techniques, the panic room is a movie that needs to be watched !
